U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 390,841 workers in March 2015, 1.9 percent more than in March 2014, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today.

February 2015 U.S. Airline Traffic Data
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today that U.S. airlines’ systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service load factor – a measure of the use of airline capacity – rose to 84.2 percent in February, seasonally adjusted,  reaching its highest level since February 2014.

March 2015 Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI)
The Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI), which is based on the amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry, rose 1.7 percent in March from February, rising after a one-month decline, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

March 2015 Complaints About Airline Service Up From Previous Year And February 2015
Airline consumer complaints filed with DOT’s Aviation Consumer Protection Division in March 2015 were up 55.1 percent from March 2014 and up 27.2 percent from February 2015, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report released today.

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines reported a net profit of $7.5 billion in 2014 down, from $12.2 billion in 2013, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today.
