a Data include nonstop scheduled service between points within the United States (including territories) by U.S. air carriers with at least 1% of the total domestic scheduled service passenger revenues and other carriers that report voluntarily. In 2003, the air carriers were Alaska, America West, American, American Eagle, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest, United, US Airways, Airtran, ATA (formerly American Trans Air), Independence (formerly Atlantic Coast), Atlantic Southeast, ExpressJet, Hawaiian (voluntarily), JetBlue , and Skywest. Reporting by Comair became effective January 2004.
A flight is considered on time if it arrived less than 15 minutes after the scheduled time shown in the carriers' Computerized Reservations Systems. Canceled and diverted operations are counted as late.
